Happy Birthday to Chet!!!

Chet turned SIX on Thursday, January 12th!! I cannot believe he's six already! But each stage, and age is so much fun! I love seeing how grown up Chet is becoming! He is such a fun, goofy, energetic boy, who is always running around busy with something, and yet will enthusiastically sit down with you to snuggle to read a book. Such a sweet combination. =) Chet is really into African animals, so wanted an African Serengeti cake! He is even saving his piggy bank money for a trip to Africa and has a vast knowledge of African animals! He amazes me!

We had a super wonderful New Year's get together this year and really missed everybody who wasn't able to make it! There are 22 kids in this picture, but on Saturday there was a total of 23 kids! =D The weekend was SO fun, everybody loved being together, and we had a super special Sunday morning meeting together....cannot wait until next year!! Thanks so much for everybody coming and all the tremendous help! (and for the pictures Kylee! Somehow I lacked on that part!)

Saturday night we had dinner at Ryan and Jessica's! And we got to sing 'Happy Birthday' to Zoe! She turned FIVE!!! A very exciting number!

Zane, Reid and I have loved going to story time in Lebanon when Chet's in school! There is always craft time after the story part which Zane so enjoys! Here we made gingerbread boys! Reid enjoyed eating gingerbread boy cookies while we worked on the craft! Perfect!

This picture is especially for Grandpa! Grandpa always builds blocks with the boys when he comes to visit, and Chet is getting so good at building stuff himself! This is one of Chet's creations!

We got season tickets to the Blazers basketball games in Portland this year and the boys are loving going to the games! It's a lot of fun, and best of all something fun to do together!

While Chet's at school, Zane and Reid have so much fun together playing! I love the extra bonding time they get together, and love seeing how much closer they've become!

Reid is so strong! Giving Zane a ride around on the bike! It's great to be chauffeured!

We all got a cold this week, so Chet got to stay home one day to help recoup! It worked thankfully, and he was so happy to return to school the next day! I love how he's all snugly with Curious George! (this is Zane's favorite!)

They were playing policeman and fireman catching the 'bad guys' the other night, and Reid carried over to me the fireman outfit wanting me to put it on so he could play too! So cute! Hawthorne School Civil War!

Chet's elementary school had a Civil War canned food drive that ended the week before Thanksgiving! It was a lot of fun....seeing whether the Duck fans, or the Beaver fans would bring in the most canned food, (the Beaver's won!) and then on the last day of the drive, Benny the Beaver, and Puddles the Duck came to their school!! The boys were soooo excited to meet Benny the Beaver!

The younger kids lined the hallway of the school watching the older kids, and Benny and Puddles carry the collected canned food to a truck outside the school. It was really loud as the kids cheered them on, and super fun! (Gavin M. and Gavin G. from Chet's class)

Oh My!!

We had our ultrasound for our baby the other day, Monday the 7th! We all loved seeing pictures of baby, and were so happy to find out that baby is doing really good and is nice and healthy! =) Chet and Zane especially liked seeing pictures of baby! Chet thought that baby would be a girl, Zane was hoping for a boy, and both daddy and mommy thought baby would probably be a boy also! But...we were in for a big surprise, as we are having a little girl!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so shocked, and still am! We are very excited to welcome a little girl into our house and home!! It will be a big change from what we are used to, but will be wonderful! The boys are so excited to have a little sister, and a little baby to love, and already have a special place for her in their hearts! It is so sweet, and I love seeing that =)

We loooved going to Papa and Nana's house for a weekend a couple of weeks ago! Zane especially was being so silly with his coffee can hat!

The boys found a good climbing tree in their backyard!

We loooved some special company come stay with us...Larry G. and Zach Z.! It really takes something to win Zane over, and here he was willingly sitting in Zach's lap reading a book! It was very sweet! Love so much the relationship the workers can have even with younger kids...

Bullet and Reid are super good buddies! Reid loves to go by Bullet and lay either on him, or right by him! They both love their snuggle time! So sweet!

The circus came to Corvallis a couple of weeks ago so off we went to check it out! Gavin, Chet's school friend, and the son of the secretary that works at the warehouse came with us too along with Josh, Zach, and Martha! The kids looooved the circus, the tricks, and the animals!

Chet had no school one Friday, so we went off on a fun adventure to the Children's Museum in Portland! The boys had sooo much fun, and even as we were loading up in the suburban to go home said they wanted to go again tomorrow, so I guess it was a successful fun day!

Chet had his first school field trip a couple of weeks ago to a pumpkin patch at Lone Pine Farms out of Eugene! Siblings were welcome to come also, so Mommy, Zane, and Reid had fun joining Chet and his classmates on the fun day and had fun helping out a bit!

We loooved going buck hunting last week in Eastern Oregon with Papa & Nana, Jim & Irene C., and Ryan & Jessica and girls who came for the weekend! Will and Ryan grew up hunting in this area, and when I had first met Will, I went along on a couple of their hunting trips too! (my first hunting experience!) So, it was extra special to be back again, kind of like a reunion with some of those who were in the hunting party years ago! The boys loved hunting so much!! They had a blast being out in the woods, playing around camp, and spotting animals! We were so glad (and lucky too) to fill four of five hunting tags. (the deer population seemed to be small this year with a lot of hunters going home empty handed) What special days those were!

I loved hunting with my best hunting buddy! Cannot wait to do more of it as our family grows!

Zane loved waking up early on opening day and going hunting with daddy and mommy! He was such a good little hiker and hunter! We didn't see any bucks that morning, but were excited to see 10 doe's and 5 elk!

Zane was so excited to find coyote poo on the trail! He wanted his picture taken with it! (he's pointing down at it)

Zane and I spotted five elk across the hillside from us...about 150 yards away from us! It was really neat; Zane was super excited to see them!

Jumping off Pierson Creek!

I was so excited to 'jump off' Pierson Creek with Will! Ever since I've moved up to Oregon, and joined the Garrett clan, I've always heard about jumping off of Pierson Creek! So, I finally got to do it! Pierson Creek goes straight down! A lot of it you slip and slide, and somehow manage to get through the dense foliage! It's very pretty! Unfortunately, we didn't see any bucks as I was hoping! We did spook up a bear as we were going through one of the fingers of the canyon, but couldn't even get a shot at it because the brush was so dense right there. It was a very neat experience!!

Two of the four bucks that were shot in our hunting party were shot in this deep canyon! I loved getting in on the action, hiking down, quartering out the two bucks, and packing out the meat! It was really neat! (and a bit of a workout!)

Dreaming of Maui!

Auntie Angie, Jessica, Zoe, Kaia, Nana, Grandma, and the boys and I went over to Maui the end of September! We had such a wonderful time!! The kids had so much fun together, and loved going to the beach, and the pool everyday! Such a hard week! ;D

The kids were overjoyed to find a lizard hanging out in some plants! He was such a friendly little guy, letting the kids carry him around deciding best where to relocate him to another plant!

Soaking up sunshine was enjoyed by all! Poor little Reid was pretty much miserable, not feeling good the whole time we were there.... It made it quiet challenging, but then also made for some good snuggle time. We were still able to enjoy some sunshine though which was nice. =)

The park where we bbq'ed with the friends had a really neat cove that filled up with water when the tide came in to knee high on the kids! It was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset and scenery!

Chet, Zane, Reid, and mommy are over in Maui having fun in the sun, sand, and pool for a week with Nana, Grandma, Auntie Angie, Jessica, Zoe, and Kaia!! The kids are loving our days here! It sure is rough having to decide whether to go to the pool or the beach first! ;D Each of us girls is cooking a dinner each night and tonight was my night! We had Thai curry chicken and yes, even delicious Thai tea! Yummm! And the best part were the fortune cookies afterwords! I took the fortune out and replaced it with our own fortune....A family of five will turn into six!!! Yes, we are expecting!!! We are so excited to welcome a new little Garrett baby April 3rd! :D. The boys are excited that they get to have another baby boy or girl!! Cannot wait to find out what it is!!! Just had to share the exciting news and will post pictures of our fun time when we return! Happy days to you! :D

Reid absolutely loved eating the berries, and got so excited to find some just his level! Pretty sure he got his daily quota of fruits!

The wild berries were so colorful and delicious! We picked seven different kinds of wild berries: salmonberries, huckleberries, red huckleberries, blackcaps, strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries! Yummm! It'll make a delicious mountain berry jam!

Chet started Kindergarten, Tuesday, September 6th! He looooves school, and cannot wait to go everyday! When asking if his first day went good, he told me, "Not really. There's too many girls!" I laughed my head off! Now if we can just get him to keep that kind of thinking until he's 30! ;D

We were able to get Chet transferred to Hawthorne School which we love! This is the school that I volunteered at before Chet was born, reading to kids in the SMART program. Hawthorne is a great school! It'll be fun years for our boys!

We are so happy to have another boy in our family! We are loving having Bullet, (named by Chet & Zane) our 13 week old puppy! He is 1/4th Red Walker hound, 1/4th Blue Tick, and 1/2 Blue Healer! So far, with a few reminders on how to behave, he is doing wonderful, and having no problem adjusting to our rowdy bunch of boys! =)

The boys loved going peach picking last week! The peach crop was terrible this year, but we did manage to pick a couple.

Cougar hunting

While Will was away down on business in Utah, we found out this kitty was hanging out 100 yards away from where we play everyday! Not a very comforting thought. We were headed down into town to do some errands one August morning, and spotted 3 of our rams lying dead in the field. I whipped the suburban around and headed back up to the house, and ran down to the field to check it out! Two of them were pretty gory and eaten up, then I realized that we were missing quite a bit more sheep! We only had 4 of our 10 sheep left! One of the missing included Flower, our two week old lamb the boys were really attached to. =( So, I called daddy, and he decided he would come home right away, cutting his trip short by quite a bit. The next couple days, dealing with the cougar, newspaper reporters, and even a lady from a local TV station who came out to do a story on it was quite emotional and draining, not just because it was sad to lose our sheep, but for the safety of our boys. This happened just a couple days before Saginaw #1 started! We were very relieved to say the least that they tracked the cougar the next day with hound dogs, treed it, and killed it. The boys all thought the events were quite neat! Chet especially wanted everything to do with helping out in regards to the cougar! A neat (and scary) experience for them. Park City, Utah

Will went down to Utah on sales this last month, and so enjoyed mountain biking down Deer Valley out of Park City, Utah one evening! The views are absolutely beautiful!! Park City is world known for their mountain biking! What a fun experience!

After preps last Saturday we headed up to the mountains to check the trail cameras, and scout around! It is always so fun to be in the mountains, and am sure that as the boys get older and older we will be spending more and more time there! So fun!! (the elk tore up the ground here in this pict!)

We met Josh, Zach, and Martha in downtown Corvallis the other day where they have a water play place! The boys had so much fun together! It was so fun to see Reid laughing as he played in the water! There were lots of giggles and smiles that day! =D

We took an afternoon Sunday drive between meetings, and headed up in the mountains for a bit before going to gospel meeting in Eugene a couple weeks ago! It was so pretty, and the boys loved being in the mountains and playing about!

Will and Ryan took their crew at the shop out for an eight hour fishing trip out of Newport! They reserved the whole boat, and ended up having some extra spaces available, so were able to invite some special friends along too! It was an awesome day as they limited out on ling cod and came home with 50 crab!

The boys and I have had fun picking raspberries, green beans, cherries, and squash lately with hopes of more! And a tip for cherry pickers...if there are no cherries on the lower branches, standing on the roof of the suburban works great! The boys thought it was really fun, and it worked great! =D Another reason why a big rig is great!

Reid had fun walking up and down the rows of green beans while mommy was frantically picking! Reid made such a cute dusty mess by the time we were done, but we did get some beans though, and he had a lot of fun!

We went to David and Jeanelle Oakes wedding reception in Eugene a couple weeks ago....the kids had a lot of fun playing together, and it was great to see the happy couple together!

Zane is THREE!!! =D We had such a fun time celebrating Zane's birthday, July 11th...this past Monday! Zane wanted a Curious George cake which was so fun to make and delicious to eat, as mommy made it an ice cream cake! And for dinner, Zane chose a special birthday dinner...chocolate chip Mickey Mouse pancakes, layered jello squares, peaches, and sausage! Yummm! What a fun evening it was! =D Zane is loving being a big boy (no more diapers for him!), and is such a sweetie, and quite the little goofball! We love him soooooo much!!!

I forgot to post pictures of our fun July 4th camping trip to Yellowjacket Lake with Doug & Kylee, Kiera and Russ & Alesha, Nolan, Ty, and Claire! We had such a fun, relaxing time together! We went swimming in the lake, fishing, smore eating, dirt playing, hiking, laughing, and sharing special times with special friends! We loved it!

The boys had a great time fishing in Yellowjacket Lake for trout! Nolan had a big catch!!

We went on a little hike around part of the lake! Everyone did wonderful on our little trek!

Big smiles! Reid loves to play with cars and trucks now! Instead of trying to eat them all the time, he can push them back and forth on the floor! So much fun!

Reid is doing so good walking!! It is so much fun to have him more mobile!!

We were given some Tinkertoys, and the boys are loving them! Reid also is so enjoying playing inside of the container, and Chet was sweet to push Reid around on the kitchen floor! There was a lot of laughing going on!

We loved going to the Sportsman's Holiday parade here in Sweet Home with Josh, Zach and Martha! Parades are always so much fun! And it was extra special to share the fun day with Martha, Josh and Zach!

We loved going to the Sweet Home rodeo during the Sportsman's Holiday weekend! Chet really got into the cheering part! He was very entertaining to listen to and got lots of smiles and laughs from others sitting around us! Reid loved watching all the action, and Zane especially loved seeing all the mean bulls and bucking broncs! Ye-haw!

Will, Ryan, and Justin (from work) spent last Saturday salmon fishing! It was a success!!

On their way down to fishing on Friday night, they had to stop for a road block out of Glendale! Not your usual construction, but a herd of elk!

Chet went over to Parma for convention with Ryan and Jessica this past week! He had so much fun! And I love how he loves to be at convention, meetings, and around the friends! So, while Chet was away, we had fun spending extra time with Zane and Reid and doing our very best to spoil them! They loved it! =) We went fishing a couple of times at Sunnyside Pond and caught a couple of rainbow trout, saw an otter, a mama duck with her ducklings, and an osprey with a fish in its claws! I thought this was so cute how Zane was squatting down beside daddy!

Reid and Mommy had fun watching Daddy and Zane fish while we played on a blanket nearby!

Riding bikes is a big thing in our house! And now Reid is loving to be able to zoom around the house with his brothers! So much fun!!!

We are loving the start again of porch sitting, relaxing evenings, watching the beautiful sunset while listening to the birds and bugs chirp! Summerish evenings are the best!

Strawberry Parade!

We loved going to the annual Strawberry Parade in Lebanon! We went to both the Junior Parade on Friday, and the Grand Parade on Saturday this year! The boys had so much fun seeing all the fun things in the parade, and of course, getting some candy!

Reid is ONE today!!! (June 2nd) We had a fun time celebrating his birthday a day early after Wednesday night meeting with froggy cupcakes for everyone! What a cutie Reid is and so happy and smiley! We love him sooo much!! =D

We loved so much going down to California for a few quick days at my mom's house, and then heading up to Mt. Ranch #1 convention with her! It was a wonderful convention, so nice to see all the workers and friends down there again, and special to share convention days with Grandma!

Reid has slept in some original places! ...A suitcase, and now a bathtub/shower in the motorhome! It worked great for convention!

We went on a fun tour of the Jelly Belly factory on the way to Grandma's house! It was really fun, and a very yummy experience! =D What better thing to eat than Jelly Belly's?!

Daddy and Zane went to Washington this past week on a two day business trip together! It was sooo nice for them to spend some special time together...and Zane was super, super excited to go with daddy! So, mommy got to spoil Chet and Reid! We had a lot of fun!...We went on a bike ride in town...

And went to Chet's all time favorite spot...the Bouncy place! So much fun! I love my boys!!!

During one of our rare windows of sunshine this past week, the dogs, boys and I went across the road to explore and take a walk in the timber! The sunshine felt so nice, and the boys had so much fun exploring and whacking stuff with their swords they brought along!

Pear Blossom weekend!

This past weekend, we went down to Medford for their annual Pear Blossom run and parade! It was such a wonderful time to be with the friends down that way! They are especially special! It was extra special to get a picture of Myron and Reid together! Myron and his wife Ester are so special, and have been like a second pair of grandparents..we are so thankful for solid pillars and examples..

Trevin and Chet especially had fun playing with chalk before the parade started, and got covered with chalk from head to toe! =) I saw some people that were in the parade laugh and point at the two boys as they were going by! It's so fun being a kid!

We have had tremendous amounts of rain this past month! So when a nice day came (aka: not raining!) we all ran outside to play! The boys were wishing we still had snow, but even though it had melted long ago, they still had fun trying to sled down the hill!

Our cute little leprechauns! The boys love going over to the Lebanon library for story time and craft time! This week we made leprechaun hats for St. Patrick's Day! The boys had a lot of fun making them and they look so cute!!

The Portland Children's Museum!!

A whole bunch of us moms and kids had so much fun going to the Children's Museum in Portland a couple of weeks ago! It was Curious George month, and Zane looooves Curious George! He was thrilled when he saw a statue of Curious George in one of the rooms, and ran over to give it a sweet little hug! He kept coming back to George to give him hugs in between playing! So sweet!!

The museum has a whole bunch of different rooms with different themes for the kids to play in! It was a lot of fun!! This room was the 'construction room!' Perfect for boys! I wish we had one of these in our house!

The boys love going over to Corvallis to learn how to swim! Zane and Reid love swimming in the water babies swim class together while big brother Chet is in his own swim class! We loooved having daddy come and swim with us one day!

Chet, Zane, Reid, Josh, and Zach have so much fun going swimming together! Their favorite is grabbing onto the stop sign on the way back to the car and yelling, "STOP!!" I'm sure they can be heard for miles around! =D

Snow fun!!

It snowed gobs here last week at our house, and we had sooo much fun playing outside in the snow!! Chet and Zane thoroughly loved sledding down the hill, and doing crazy stunts, and Reid loved watching all the action all bundled up!

It started to snow right before Wednesday bible study, so I let Chet and Zane play outside on the porch for a little while! Reid loved watching his crazy brothers, and loved watching the snowballs they were throwing at him slide down the window! =)

Whee!!

Let's go snowmobiling! Chet already does super tricks!....no hands going down the hilll, and a barrel roll off the sled at the bottom of the hill! I think Chet's going to give Uncle Ryan some competition for craziness on snowmobiles! =D

Reid and I flew down to Arizona this past weekend for Angie's bridal shower! It was a lot of fun to be there for the shower, and spend time with Angie, and Scott and many other people!

All the ladies!

The house where the bridal shower was beautiful, and made a beautiful setting for a ladies tea!

All the ladies wrote a thought on a heart piece of paper that said, "My wish for you..." Angie attached each heart to a balloon, and then went outside and released all of the balloons into the air! A neat and picturesque idea!
